Chair Position Voting and ECET Orientation Day

Chair Position Voting

Our current chair, John Shin, accepted a job offering after graduating and therefore he is no longer a BCIT student. Since all IEEE executives must be current BCIT students, we will need a new chair in the fall semester to fill in for John.

We have two Chair candidates, Johnson Huang and Michael Larson. The voting form will be open until 11:00 PM, September 7 to give all the paid members plenty of time to vote.

Both Johnson and Michael have written a few sentences about why they are running for Chair. Please read them below before casting your vote.

The voting form is available here. Only paid members with a valid IEEE number are eligible to vote.
If you are not one, please visit to sign up.

ECET Orientation Day‏

Also, the club will be hosting an orientation for new ECET students on the first day of classes – September 8. We need at least five more people to help us show the new students around the campus, pointing out areas that are relevant to ECET students. The tour routes will be decided ahead of time and volunteers will have a list of locations to show. The volunteers should also be happy to share about their experiences in the program thus far and be able to give advice to new students when they ask questions.

Sign up here if you would like to volunteer. All volunteers must meet outside SW1 1205 at 12:50 PM on September 8 for the start of the orientation.
